ABOUT

Hip replacement is suggested when a patient’s hip has been damaged by arthritis, a fracture, or other conditions, such as Rheumatoid Arthritis or Osteoarthritis, and nonsurgical treatments like medications, physical therapy, and activity changes are no longer helpful for relieving pain.

Hip replacement may be an option for patients who avoid contact sports, and activities that put excessive strain on the hip joint such as jumping, running, contact sports, and heavy or repetitive lifting.
