ABOUT

Elbow replacement is a surgery that can reduce pain and restore mobility in patients whose elbow joints have been damaged, and when nonsurgical interventions such as medication and physical therapy no longer help alleviate pain. The damage could be from a disease such as rheumatoid arthritis or from a traumatic injury.

Elbow replacement may be an option for patients who avoid contact sports, and activities that put excessive strain on the elbow such as hammering, racquet sports, and heavy or repetitive lifting.
